The Joint Council of Student Representation

The Joint Council of the GSA/AEES is a governing body of the association. The GSA council is composed of student representatives from each graduate program, the GSA Executive, and five constituency commissioners. 

 

Next Council Meeting
The Joint Council usually meets once a month. The next Council meeting will be held on Monday November 7 from 12-2pm in rm L-239.

All members are welcome to attend!

 If your program is not represented, stop by the GSA|AEES office to find out how to volunteer.

Brady Trombly

Position: Human Kinetics Co-Representative
Brady Trombly is a second year master’s student inthe Human Kinetics program.  Her master’s thesis research is focused on the promotion ofphysical activity through physical education.  The goal of her project is to determine the reasons why girlsare choosing not to participate in physical education classes beyond grade 9class.  Brady’s passions and experiences have driven her to further her education and hopefully make an impact on physical education and activity practices within the Sudbury and northern Ontario regions.  In addition to her thesis research, she hasdedicated much of her time to coaching local competitive and high schoolgymnasts.

Arthur Gron

Position: Sociology Program Rep

Arthur Gron is pursing an MA in Sociology concentrating on the sociology of health and new tracking technologies.  He also enjoys 3D photography and cycling.

He is a contributor to the Graduate Students' newsletter, OMEGA, and he often digs up archived photos of Sudbury's downtown.

Kaylyn Sutcliffe

Position: Human Kinetics Co-Representative
Kaylyn is completing her Masters in Human Kinetics under the supervision of Dr. Sandra Dorman and is researching the health effects of Diesel Particulate Matter (DPM) in healthy humans. The study has two objectives 1) to examine systemic inflammatory effects of DPM and 2) to test a novel inhalation method using nebulized DPM in healthy humans. This safety study will aim to develop a new method to facilitate future research of DPM in susceptible populations.
